Oregon Trip: Japanese Gardens

Hi all! I’m just finishing up a trip to Portland with friends. None of these Oregon posts are going to be in chronological order, but hopefully nothing will seem nonsensical. I’m starting off with our stop at the Japanese Gardens, which is pretty close to downtown Portland and located in Washington Park.

It was absolutely beautiful! And much bigger than the wonderful gardens we have in the Vancouver, Canada area. Take a peek.

It was a beautiful day when we went. No matter what, though, I’d say a trip to the Japanese Gardens is worth your while. Especially if you’re a writer! I thought of my grandmother a lot as we ambled along, taking in the curated, styled spaces in the garden.

Tiny Fred waiting for his bus to the Big World. (There will be a lot of “Tiny Fred” stories this Oregon trip. Just an FIY. Partially inspired by his schoolboy aesthetic. What, you don’t see it? Just me? Whatever! I see it.)
